Sun K. Kwak is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist originally from Korea, renowned for her transformative "Space Drawing" and "Sculptural Drawing".
Her work is transfigurative, reshaping the perception and experience of spaces, and performative, as she empties herself into the drawing process, a surrender that leads to the liberation of both the artist and the environment. Kwak explores the realms of consciousness and unconsciousness, materiality and spirituality, through space drawings that break boundaries and expand spatial possibilities. Her art finds completion when viewers enter the new pictorial reality, interacting with the work and, in doing so, expanding their own sense of time and space. This interaction marks the moment when the work is complete, blurring the lines between the visible and the invisible.
