< Dust, Sand, Ash and beyond..>
“60 lbs of dust, 2 kg of sand, 32 g of ashes” shown as the first piece of the selected images contains the symbol reminiscent of the materials, and accumulates drawn by gradually putting on layers of dust, sand and ashes daily over several months. This is a work that meditates on the power of the finite life cycle that comes and goes endlessly while moving quietly through time and longing for eternal life.
Drawing on 2D surfaces began with “Negative Drawing” as a part of “Space Drawing” by cutting out the drawing after wrapping the ceramic surfaced panel with tape. And continued working with various flat surfaces by pouring down, carving, and brushing on wall, elevator quay, wood, acrylic, linoleum board, mirror and canvas with tape, dust, sand, ash, vinyl, velvet, ink, paint, mixed medium etc. goes on.
